House B&B is situated on a small farm in Moycullen Galway where the Griffin family have farmed for four
generations.
It is a spacious modern Galway farmhouse accommodation located on the N59, 15 minute drive from
Galway City and 2 miles west of Moycullen Village. The house is in a rural
setting with an abundance of trees in the vicinity. With the backdrop of Newtown
Hill, and about 100 yards from the main road, guests are assured of quietness
and privacy to enjoy a relaxing holiday.
Rockfield House is owned and run by Tim and Kathleen Griffin and they and their
children Fidelma and Ronan cordially welcome you to their home and hope you have
a wonderful stay.

This Galway Self Catering three bedroom holiday house in Moycullen, is attached to the owners' guest house, and has been
renovated to a cosy standard, a wonderful base from which to tour and
enjoy the West of Ireland.
Access is by way of a ramped footpath suitable for wheelchair users.
Accommodation consists of a lounge with an open fireplace, kitchen/diner, 3
bedrooms,( 2 double, 1 twin), and 3 bathrooms one of which is wheelchair
friendly.
Oil fired central heating, open fire in lounge (initial supply of fuel
provided), all other fuel and power by meter reading at end of stay. Bed linen
and towels are included in rent. Cot available. Colour TV and DVD player. Family
size electric cooker, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and microwave.
Enclosed lawned garden with patio and garden furniture Off road parking for 2
cars.

There is a
relaxed and friendly atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome, not to
mention, a wealth of quality restaurants, traditional pubs and craft shops.
(Connemara Marble Visitors Centre and the Celtic Crystal Visitors Centre are not
to be missed.)
All around Moycullen, lakes abound surrounded by hills steeped in purple and
draped with gold-fringed clouds - prime material for artist, photographer and
walker. The great Lough Corrib - 44,000 acres of it - borders the district to
the East.

Moycullen
offers excellent coarse fishing and Rockfield House is the ideal place to
stay. Lough Corrib renowned for its trout fishing is a 10 minute drive from
Rockfield House.
The region is also a haven for horse-riding enthusiasts, with pony trekking and
riding lessons available just a 10 minute drive from Rockfield House.
The West of Ireland is renowned as a golfing paradise. Bearna, Glenlo Abbey
and Oughterard 18 hole courses are all approx.a 5 minutes drive.
There is a swimming pool, sauna & tennis court in nearby Oughterard.
The Galway coastline is laced with safe and s andy
beaches. There are some wonderful beaches within a 10 minute drive of the B&B.
Visit the
Aran Islands on a day trip, take a cruise on Killary, Ireland's only Fjord, or
perhaps on Lough Corrib, Ireland's second largest lake.
This Galway Bed & Breakfast is located in the center of a walkers paradise with the
Western Way starting in Oughterard and running along Lough Corrib.
There
are also several shorter walking and cycling routes in the area. A walk up
Newtown Hill, behind the farmhouse, affords scenic views of Ross Lake and the
surrounding area. (weather and walking conditions permitting.)
Tim and Kathleen, the owners are always on hand to advise their guests on all
amenities available in the area.
Moycullen is
the ideal base to tour Connemara, the Burren in County Clare, Cong, Westport,
Croagh Patrick and Achill Island in County Mayo. As it is close to Galway
City a day trip to visit the City of the Tribes is a must. Galway is a very
vibrant city steeped in history and it offers marvelous shopping. The
purchase of a Claddagh Ring as a momento of Galway is often the highlight of the
trip to Galway City.
